“We are delighted that the LaunchPad 80 was recognised at the BEEAs,” said Jeremy Ash, AB Dynamics Sales Director. “The achievement is testament to the team who worked hard to develop the LaunchPad 80. We are very proud that our product is directly contributing to developing safer vehicles, and safer journeys for our most vulnerable road users.”
The LaunchPad 80 was introduced at the end of 2021 and is our latest and fastest VRU (Vulnerable Road User) test platform. Capable of safe and controlled testing at speeds of up to 80 km/h and braking at over 0.6g, it was the first commercially available platform to meet the speed requirements of Euro NCAP’s AEB/LSS VRU Test Protocol for motorcycle ADAS testing due to come into effect in 2023.
Paul Fanning, Publishing Director of awards organiser MA Business, said:
It was a delight to be back with the BEEAs as an in-person event for the first time in more than two years. While it sometimes felt as though everything had changed over the last couple of years, one thing that certainly hasn’t changed is the quality of UK engineering and of the people, projects and products showcased in this year’s entries.
The British Engineering Excellence Awards are one of the UK’s most prestigious awards in the engineering community, for more information, please see the website.
